Telstra Philippines – Internet Hope For Filipinos

The internet is more of a necessity than a luxury nowadays. For work, school projects, and maintaining long distance relationships, the internet plays a vital role.

About 3 years ago, the country’s two giant telecommunication companies have been providing excellent internet services along with their usual call and text offers. But lately, many Filipinos have been complaining about their lousy service. They used to have excellent services but then along with the slow internet connection (I am talking about dial up speed here friends..I mean  0.20 kbps when you reach the data cap limit…seriously!), they both started data capping which pushed many people to hate these telcos. 15g a month data cap? Are you kidding me? Between these two internet providers, which do you think fair’s better?

But then this news that brings new hope arises. Is Telstra going to infiltrate Philippine’s telecommunications industry? In case you don’t know yet, Telstra is Australia’s largest telecommunication company. Telstra will be partnering with San Miguel to deliver the telecommunication and internet service that they feel the Filipinos deserve. According to news, Telstra is about to spend $1B for this Philippine telco venture.

The promise of no data cap and internet speed of up to 100 MB is enough to give bloggers like me hope of a better blogging and internet experience. This is unverified report but I’ve been hearing that this is what they will be offering: Php 2000 a month for unlimited internet with a speed of 100MB. If this is a dream, I don’t want to wake up anymore.

Come now Telstra, millions of Filipinos are waiting. We are so ready for faster internet with no capping!

Stress Coloring For Adults

Stress is a silent killer. Overthinkers like me are very prone to stress. When I am bothered with a thought, it stays with me for a long time.

I have been hearing about stress coloring for adults. On my recent trip to Australia, I’ve been to a local bookstore and I saw the adult coloring book that I wanted but the tag price hindered me from buying. It was around $30 to $50 which I think is too much for a 50 page coloring book.

Anyway, imagine my happiness when I saw this book from my local shop here in the Philippines.

And guess how much it is? It is way too cheap compared to its Aussie counterpart. This one is only php149 which is roughly about $5. Oh the joy of saving!

So my journey to stress coloring starts. I didn’t realize how hard it is to color the pages. There are just so many details. Here’s my first page:

I’m not yet done but the closer I get to seeing the finished product, the more stress free I become.

Have you tried this my loves? I strongly suggest it not only if you have extra time but also if you just want to relax in between tedious work.

The Fix Your Eyes On The Eternal

I have just finished my daily Bible reading. Today, I read in 1 John chapter 2.

I really believe that verse 17 is a good reminder for us all to fix our eyes on things that will last forever. What is the use of spending everything that we have on things that will be just be around for a while? Wouldn’t it be just a waste of time?

So what are the things that are eternal? Our soul, our salvation, and our relationship with the Lord are eternal. These are the things that we should be working on.

Of course we should still take care of our families, do our work, and enjoy fellowship with other people. But let us not forget that as we do these temporal things, we should be very careful not to ignore the eternal things. We should always set aside time for the Lord. We should not spend all our resources on the things of the world.

I hope this verse reminds you as good as it reminded me to keep my eyes fixed on the eternal.

How Do You Start Your Day?

It’s Tuesday and I’d like to start this day right. A prayer in the morning before you do anything else is the best way to start the day. It’s the foolproof way to make things work right throughout the day.

Today, I cooked special scrambled egg for my little man.  He finished it before I can even take a picture of it. And for me, a cup of coffee always wakes me up.

The blankets are already on the washing machine and Im set to start the day right!

How about you my loves? How do you start your day?

It’s School Break

It’s that time of the year again. This week is the most awaited school break. To kickstart the week, what about a nice desert for my little man?

It just feels so good not worrying about waking up early in the morning. What a relief…
Well I want to do something special before school break is over, any ideas?

Working From Home – Pros and Cons

Many mothers like me are dreaming of a work from home gig. I won’t be surprised. Working from home has a lot of pros especially for mommies who want to juggle family time with work time. So if you are thinking about working from home, here are the pros and cons that you have to consider:

Pros of Working From Home

  • You can work at the same time continue being a mom. Working from home allows you to be with your children. This is particularly beneficial if you have little ones. You can have as many “yayas” as you want but nothing beats the security of being there personally with your children.
  • You own your time. Wouldn’t it be nice if you can work on hours you feel like working and chill whenever you want to? With many online work, you can be your own boss as long as you complete the time required of you and you finish the tasks at hand.
  • You can watch a movie while working. I know many people won’t be able to juggle two things at a time. But for some, watching a movie while working is the way to go.
  • You don’t need to dress up. I know this may be considered as a negative factor by some people especially those who likes to dress up but for some people it is a great relief not to have to dress up for work. Aside from it’s a total time saver, you will also save a lot of money. No need for shopping! What a relief.

Cons of Working From Home

  • No social life. This is the topmost negative side of working from home. You will lose the chance of meeting new people and enjoying your social life. There will be no random Friday night outs with colleagues.
  • Prone to procrastination. Having your own work time is always a temptation to delay work. Before you know it, you will be cramming at the end of the month when client reports are due.
  • Decreased self confidence. Because you don’t really deal with people personally, your confidence in facing people is decreased. Sometimes talking to people in real life becomes a struggle.

Well, there you go with the pros and cons of working from home. I have been working from home for years and trust me, I have dealt with all these pros and cons already.
